In your role, you will have the opportunity to develop as a teacher of English and join a team of English teachers to teach levels A2 to C1, and your responsibilities could include:
-Teach classes – both face-to-face and online
-Give didactic feedback to students
-Shadow and observe teachers
-Plan lessons and deliver learning materials and activities;
-Teach support classes;
-Attending teachers meetings;
-Assist with complementary tasks, such as level testing for new students or as a substitute teacher role
-Organise and take part in cultural activities, e.g. conversational café, workshops and festivals
-Teach private lessons
-Monitor and evaluate students
You don’t have to be a graduate to join the programme because if you can show experience and/or any relevant qualification in either of the sectors available (i.e. a TEFL qualification such as the CELTA or equivalent) – you’re eligible. But, before rushing to apply to this life-changing opportunity, check if you are eligible:
-You are aged 18+ on departure.
-You have a permanent UK address and UK work rights.
-You are not a national citizen of the destination country.
-You have a valid UK (or EU) passport with more than six months validity after your return date.
-You can commit to the entire programme duration: 84 days/12 weeks
-You are educated to GCSE level or equivalent and have a minimum of 5 GCSEs
-If you are still at uni and looking for a year in industry placement, you are not eligible
– You have some English teaching experience and/or a qualification such as the CELTA or equivalent
