Job Description

CELTA trainers are involved in all aspects of the course and are responsible for the day-to-day running and administration. They are also responsible for adhering to the CELTA syllabus and following all assessment guidelines, as well as managing all aspects of learning. Additionally, they are responsible for adhering to all processes and procedures set out by the Director of Studies, Head of Teacher Training, Teacher Training Coordinator or Teacher Training Management team. The Stafford House International CELTA course is a standardized course and trainers must follow the guidelines set out by the Center. Trainers must read the Trainer’s Handbook as well as the Trainee Handbook and all other documents created for trainees’ consumption. 

It is the CELTA trainer’s responsibility to ensure that they have up-to-date documentation from Cambridge English and that they are fully aware of the guidelines for course administration and, where appropriate, trainer training. They should also ensure that they complete standardization exercises provided by Cambridge English. 

It possible that one of the trainers working on the course, will take the responsibility of being the Main Course Tutor, the other trainer or trainers being the Assistant Course Tutor and Teaching Practice Tutor.

  • Willingness to work nights & weekends as needed
