Language in Action Ltd is an exciting language provider with an innovative approach to language learning. Our courses offer all students an opportunity to use newly learnt English language skills in real life English situations, as well as gain Trinity GESE certification. We bring the English language classroom to life and the classroom to the English Language.
We seek some twenty professional, energetic and creative EFL teachers to join our team. The role will be centre-based at one of our three summer school centres across London, from late June to mid-August 2017. We are passionate about improving the way English language is taught and learnt and are looking for like-minded individuals to join the Academic teams at our centres.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Teacher and Director of Studies to deliver interactive, communicative lessons in dynamic and relevant lessons that integrate pronunciation, keys skills of speaking and listening, grammar and lexis, learner training and the activity programme. You will also be responsible for preparing students for the Trinity London GESE exam at the end of their course, so you will need to be organised, well-prepared and able to follow a clear curriculum with detailed lesson plans. Experience with interactive whiteboards and exam preparation classes, particularly Trinity GESE, would be beneficial but not essential.
The purpose of the teachers at the centres is to ensure that LIA produces a language learning experience that meets the expectations of the students and to share ideas and experiences with your co-teachers and the whole Academic team.
This is a non-residential position. You will be teaching 30 contact hours per week plus staff meetings and development sessions. The timetable follows a zig-zag structure, with Group A studying AM in week 1 and PM in week 2, and Group B studying PM in week 1 and AM in week 2. The students will participate in activities and excursions when they are not in the classroom.
Language in Action Ltd is committed to ensuring that the safeguarding of our students is paramount and we expect our staff to share this commitment so an enhanced DBS check (or international equivalent) and 2 positive references are a condition of employment:
