City College is a General Further Education college with an accreditation from the British Council for the teaching of English and a UKVI approved Tier 4 sponsor.  The College has a long tradition of welcoming international students from all over the world.

We are looking for an experienced and organised Academic Manager to join the International team.  The candidate will be responsible for managing the College's International English programmes, English and Academic courses for Tier 4 students and providing oversight for the quality of teaching and learning on tailor-made courses for international clients.

The role of the English and Academic Manager is to ensure the programmes offered are delivered to the highest standard and inspire and motivate our learners to succeed. You will work in conjunction with the International team and the academic centres to achieve this.

Part of the provision is monitored by the British Council so awareness of their inspection requirements and the ability to ensure quality processes and systems are in place will be a strong advantage.

The role includes some teaching, as well as managing teaching staff.  Successful candidates should have extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience to ensure that outstanding teaching and learning is delivered both within their own teaching and through supporting other team members. This could require evening and weekend working.

This is an area of growth for the College so we are particularly interested in candidates with ideas for developing the range of courses offered.
